145th session of the UN Human Rights Committee

The UN Human Rights Committee is holding its 145th session (2–19 March, Geneva). Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Centre for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is participating in the session as a member of the Committee.

During the session, Committee members will consider periodic reports from Andorra, Canada, Chad, the Republic of Moldova and Slovakia on measures taken to implement the provisions of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the results achieved, as well as existing problems and challenges.

In addition, draft General Comment No. 38 on Article 22 of the Covenant, concerning the right to freedom of association, including the right to form and join trade unions for the protection of one's interests, will be discussed. The Committee meeting will also consider individual communications submitted in accordance with the established procedure.
